A smartphone is a handheld computer that combines features of a cell phone, PDA (Personal Digital Assistant) and other handheld devices. In smartphone PDA functions are added to cell phone. Smartphone provides access to the Internet and e-mail, has a camera, GPS software and allows to read documents in PDF and Microsoft Office formats. Smartphone is a sound-centric device. The first smartphone was designed by IBM in 1992 and was called Simon. Since 2004 and up to nowadays, smartphones' share at the mobile telephones market is constantly increasing.
