The History Channel Lost Worlds - ancient civilizations come alive!

The History Channel Lost Worlds is another puzzle game combining hidden object tasks with lots of other puzzles for you to solve. This time you will be given an opportunity to discover the lost worlds and get into the very heart of ancient civilizations with their thrilling mysteries and breathtaking treasures.

This game will take you on a journey across the worlds that have been considered lost for a long time.

There is no special story or character. You just investigate some ancient civilizations (you will have a choice of three - Mesoamerica, Rome and Egypt - at the start) and learn lots of interesting facts about their history, legends, beliefs, and just the life of people there. The knowledge you get is really encyclopaedic and concerns all the aspects of the existence of the civilizations.

Each Lost World consists of several stages you have to pass in order to discover it fully and get access to a bonus puzzle. In order to unlock it you will need to fill the golden bar at the bottom of your screen. It can be filled with the points you earn during the stages. Each stage features five puzzles to solve. There are different types of levels, such as hidden object ones, the levels where your goal is to find differences in two pictures, some tasks requiring reassembling a picture from pieces and trivia questions. Some of the puzzles are very challenging, mostly due to the time limit you have. Actually, after the time runs out, you can still complete the puzzle, but won't get any bonus points, which means your chances to unlock the bonus puzzle fall down. Be ready to use all your attention and speed, for, while the graphics is very realistic, the details you have to find are sometimes really small and almost impossible to notice. This is a game for genuine puzzle lovers.

Surely, you are not left on your own in this tight circumstances. You have 5 hints for each stage. Try to use them thriftily, for you may find yourself at a complete loss and with no hints to help at the last levels of a stage. And do not forget you lose points and time for clicking in wrong places, so it's better to look closer than just to click anywhere.

What gives the game a slight humoristic tone is the line with hints at the top of the screen. You can read there such phrases as "All warriors are gone, only tourists left" or a warning that none of the items you are looking for (such as a cell-phone of a baseball glove) is an authentic Mayan artifact.

On the whole the game is really engaging, you just need to get accustomed to the graphics and the tasks. Actually it even gets easier as soon as you get the point. A nice choice to try.
