Sometimes when our worst fears come true, we can only to gether all our courage and go all the way through. This doesn't sound like a lot of fun, but that is the story behind Tales From The Dragon Mountain. You play as a youg woman who tells you about her childhood memories of her grandmother. One thing in particular is the stories that her grandma was telling her about some fairy creatures. Years later she had a dream about her grandma's house burning. She goes to the place and slowly understands that things are not that simple and some of those creatures from the stories were not that imaginary. Soon you will find that you are the one to fight some dark spirit. |

Gourmania 3: Zoo Zoom is one of the games that serve as a break from the usual way the things are going. It is a hidden object game, but there are no mysteries or murders or anything dark and creepy. This game offers you some hidden object fun in a restaurant-themed setting. There is a girl named Victoria, and she has a father who is very rich. But the relationships with her father aren't that great because he wants her to get into some manual labor instead of just receiving the money from him. So this is pretty much the general background of how you ended up playing through all kinds of the restaurants and specialty shops. All of the places are randomly themed, which is a nice surprise-me feature. |

It is one of those games. Grim Facade: Mystery of Venice is one of those games that have it all together. There is a story to tell, lots of items to interact with, even more to find, and also puzzles along the way. The game's way of telling you the story is quite tricky. Games developers finally learned that there is no need to give it all away right at the start. So here, you see how two ladies disappear. Then you meet their husband and father asking you to find them. That's about it storywise. That's when you start playing and finding out more and more about this villain and what's going on. And there is a story behind this. So it's kind of nice to dig out more and more details to it.

For some reason sequels are always wear the risk of being worse than their prodecessors. Some fail the test, whie others pass it with excellence. Golden Trails 2: The Lost Legacy is one of the lucky ones that only become better with every release. This time around you are going to deal with pirates. Here's the deal. Captain Morgan throws your grandfather in jail claiming that he is the famous Pirate Kidd. There is a condition on which your grandfather can be free. You have to track down the logbook from his ship. This book gives access to more than the freedom to your grandfather. It also shows the way to the location of the secret treasure. That journey will take you to Europe, America and many other places.

Maybe I do not play enough of the games of the hidden object/adventure genre, but it does seem to me that they become more and more demonic/satanic/paranormal-themed. Secrets of the Dark: Temple of Night is one of those recently released. In this game, you are asked by a friend to go to a litterally demon possessed town. The legend has it that there used to be a temple of this dark god, but it all was long ago, and nobody believes it now. But according to your friend and his tapes and what you can see with your own eyes, the legend got it right. So, anyways, you start exploring the town for more clues to help your friend, who is now captured by the demons in their realm. Their world is easily reached by turning light into darkness. |

Just in case you were looking for something to give to your kids to play, you should know that Dracula: Love Kills isn't what you are looking for. If the title didn't tell you that, then the very first image you see in the game will. You play Dracula in this game. You set to fight for your right to rule in the world of the vampires, which is also our world. You have an ugly helper named Igor (he reminds looks a lot like Quazimodo) and a beloved (and she looks like Kira Knightley). You also have a magic book that you are going to use to achieve your goal. And all of that is just abundant with sorcery and some form of satanism as for me.

Vampire Mansion: A Linda Hyde Adventure is a newly released hidden object game. The game features many scenes you are to search through and an intriguing story that unfolds right before you. You might think that the title gave it all away to you, but that's not actually true. It's not like you become a witness of some tragic accident and now you are to go and solve some kind of a problem. In Vampire Mansion: A Linda Hyde Adventure you play as Linda Hyde that accidentally gets involved into some mysterious adventure. She meets Augustine and receives a task from him to find some ancient books since she is very good at things like that. The game will please the hidden object genre fans. You do get some inventory that can be used somewhere along the way, but it is a really small of teh general gameplay. |
