Amazonia - Match-3 Puzzle of New Generation
If your heart asks for a new colorful adventure, yet your feet don't feel like going far, plunge into a new puzzle adventure concealing the match-3 mechanics called Amazonia. From the very first game screen with a view of the magical kingdom and the sounds of music I recognized the hand of Friends Games - creators of Magic Match game series. The quality of soundtrack and graphical effects may compete with those of Disney cartoons.
If you ask me what this game is like, the first word that comes to my mind is: SOOTHING. First, because of the gameplay.
Unhurried match-three on a colorful background runs at a moderate pace so you can watch every flash and explosion in detail.
The graphics is neat and amazing, you just enjoy watching the game itself.
Game Play. As said, Amazonia is based on a simple match-3 principle and you are to swap and line up amulets and other stunningly-performed stuff to create matches of three and more objects. Eventually, you are to perform the required number of matches so the match meter on the right of your playfield reaches the highest point and the level is completed.
However, the rules mentioned above do not cover the whole game play. With each new level that you play, new bonuses and challenges are introduced into the game.
Say, in the part of the playfield that are difficult to access there are letters instead of amulets. And you are to perform matches with the amulets that lay in the cells adjacent to these letters. As you do this, the letters are released and form a word. Once all the letters are released, the level is completed.
Chain amulets. Chained amulets look like the rest of amulets, but are linked with a chain. They are very similar to the captured objects at Big Kahuna Reef as they may block the part of the playfield and cannot be swapped. In order to release them, you are to line up two more amulets of the same color next to the chained amulets and perform a match. The chain amulet will vanish and the blocked part of the playfield will be filled with the amulets.
Ice - at some levels you are to fight against the ice on the playfield. It starts from a single cell and may spread over the whole playfield. Amulets covered with ice are blocked and cannot be swapped. The only way to fight with the ice is to perform the matches of the amulets that are neighboring with the frozen cells.
Burning amulet is another medium to fight with game play freezing. Create clusters of three or more amulets using it and it will destroy the freezing field.
Talismans of unity are split into two different parts that should be placed on one line. Once you do this, these parts will unite and create a talisman.
Medallions appear under a certain amulets. In order to get them, you are to create a match with the amulets that lie on the medallion.
This is by far not the whole list of all game play twists, challenges and bonuses that Amazonia has to offer. Enough to say, your matching adventure will lie through several lands of magic kingdom like green bay and desert each featuring its gorgeous animated background.
