Antique Shop -Fund Your Dream Expedition!
Antique Shop is one of the latest releases to the time-management genre. In this game you are to sell antique things to get the money needed for an archaeological expedition to Greece.
There are all kinds of upgrades and inventory to buy, but we'll see if it makes the game so good after all.
You have a map for an unexplored archeological site and need money to
set up an expedition so you trade on your knowledge of history and open
up an antique shop.
The intro is pages and pages of comics. Then you finally get to work.
Customers come in and you have to click on a flashing arrow on the counter to invite them to
come forward to the counter.
You then click
on the question mark in front of the customer and their order appears
either in picture form or in words and you have to send your assistant
to retrieve items from the storeroom.
You can decide for yourself when to advance. It can be very useful
to stay in a familiar store for a few extra levels after purchasing the
next store so you could buy bonuses right away.
Money earned can be spent on new
stock for the shop, a large variety of upgrades, and on buying items in
answer to four riddles. To make decent money (which is necessary if you do not want to be on
the first shop forever) you need to be able to serve customers swiftly.
I think the game may be a little too much for novices but should present a challenge to experienced players.
The graphics are pretty good even though the music and sounds are not the best ever. The main character, the beautiful young girl, is not someone to make the story interesting.
I guess this is the case when a trial version is a good thing.
