Artifacts of the Past: Ancient Mysteries
Artifacts of the Past:Ancient Mysteries
is a newly released game for the hidden object game fans. The game is
full of everything a decent game of this genre is supposed to have,
which is a good thing.
But it doesn't seem like the game does
anything to stand out.
Strange things happen here and there and
only one person can actually figure out what's going on.
Everyone including a thick-necked
men, strong-willed women and even
agents of Her Majesty The Queen are trying to find the clues, but only Dr. Artifact can get
to the bottom of it all.
He is you, and all of
his adventures are opened before you. You will spend most of the time
solving hidden object levels, but you will also get to solve the puzzles
every once in a while.
He is a weird character, but isn't it what
makes the story more interesting and funny. The story is not way deep
and intriguing, but in general it is fairly neat and the audio-visuals
are enjoying. The game is divided into three
which will take players to the Pyramids of Giza, Stonehenge and
Teotihuacan. The game can be played in two modes.
One of them is normal, the other one is
easier, which is done by reducing the recharge period of a hint. The
rest stays the same.
There is a couple of tools for
tyour use. A "shuffle" option replaces the current list
of hidden objects with a new one. And a magnifying glass gives you a
closer perspective at a scene.
The searches for
geometric shapes - bits of paper,
scraps of a photograph and the like - can be much more challenging
then those of a regular HO levels. Once the game
is complete you can easily replay any scene or a puzzle having
chosen it from the main menu.
The game is quite entertaining and
definitely is no failure of the developers.
