Bonfire Stories: The Faceless GravediggerBonfire Stories: The Faceless Gravedigger Collector's Edition

Bonfire Stories is a new series coming from the developers of the Mystery of the Ancients series. This time around Mariaglorum presents a dark, creepy, horror tale (as you probably have already guessed from the title), Bonfire Stories: The Faceless Gravedigger Collector's Edition.

Then there is a bonus chapter where you go back to the bonfire and who knows - you might just see the gravedigger there...

Bonfire Stories: The Faceless Gravedigger

As you probably understand this game's story is going to be for a more mature audience because it follows a classic script of a horror story telling around the fire. In this hidden object puzzle adventure game, you play as a reporter investigating a story that sounds a lot like a pure legend. But when you see your partner disappear, you understand that the rumors must be true.

The story you are investigating revolves around a resort called Quiet Grove. At some point, people began to disappear there and the rumors blamed everything on a faceless gravedigger. Not much is known about him, and not many clues or even bodies for that matter have been available at that time. The case was closed, but it seems that you are going to be the one to reopen it again.

Then there is a bonus chapter where you go back to the bonfire and who knows - you might just see the gravedigger there... You never know what can happen in a setting like that!

Bonfire Stories: The Faceless Gravedigger

The game's visual presentation is pretty decent. Like many dark story games do these days, this one is mostly in blue and purple colors. You are going to visit many abandoned looking scenes since you are exploring that old resort. There are four modes of difficulty: Casual, Advanced, Expert, and Custom. Hints and skips can be adjusted from 10 to 90 seconds.

Though there is nothing particularly new about the hidden object scenes or the puzzles, they are all nicely done and creatively put together. You also get a lot of extras as part of the CE, like 8 three-part achievements , 34 collectibles, a lot of media extras (music, video, concept etc...), and a map with a strategy guide.

It is a new horror series to explore if you are into the dark spectrum of the hidden object puzzle adventure games.
