Charlaine Harris: Dying for Daylight
Seeing the game's title you might think that the game is about the vampires, but no, that's not quite so. The game is actually about shopping. Seriously. Charlaine Harris: Dying for Daylight is newly released hidden object/adventure game.
Dahlia is to investigate the situation all across the New Orleans.
You play as a young and sexy vampire named Dahlia. Dahlia is one of the Charlaine Harris's characters. Her novels are best selling and are the basis of True Blood tv show. So if you are familiar with those, things are more interconnected for you now.
So, Dahlia is a vampire with a mission. Her boss found out that there might be a potion in New Orleans that makes it possible for a vampire to be outside in the daylight. Danhila gets really excited about this idea cause that will make it possible to go shopping during the day. See? I told you that the game was about shopping. Anyways, when she arrives to New Orleans, she finds out that the vampires related to the potion are murdered, by the group that wants to get hold of the potion.
Now Dahlia is to investigate the situation all across the New Orleans. The game is a typical hidden object/adventure game where you go from place to place to collect the items and solve the puzzles. There are also the hidden object levels every now and then where you also get inventory items.
One of the nicest things in this game is the hint system. When in a hidden object level the hints work as you would expect them - they reveal the items on the list. But outside of the hidden object scenes, the hints are actually very helpful allowing you to even to choose the topic for a hint, which eliminates the frustration of not knowing what to do and not helpful hints.
But it's not like you won't get any further in the game if you don't use the hints. The puzzles and hidden object searches are not that terribly difficult. The game in general is very polished in its every aspect. The scenes are absolutely beautiful and the musics fits the story very well. The dialogues are voice-acted, which an important feature if you are anything like me. The mini-games puzzles are fun to play since they are presented in a fresh way.
The game in general is very polished in its every aspect.
