Cindy's Sundaes Game Review

Thank God it’s Friday. But tonight I’m inviting you to eat out at a different place - Cindy’s Sundaes – the latest creation of Viqua Games.

Well, despite of somewhat too simple graphics, the game looks delicious. But, be sure to get yourself some ice-cream before you check it out: ). So, picture yourself running an ice-cream parlor. Your task is to fulfill your customer’s wishes and make ice-cream on their request. The ice-cream is being prepared as you match multi-colored scoops on the gamefield. You can drag any horizontal, vertical and diagonal row of scoops to place three or more scoops of the same color side-by-side. As you see, the game mechanics is pretty similar to Chuzzle Deluxe by Pop Cap games. But here you can also match diagonal rows of scoops, unlike in Chuzzles.

The game concept looks really fresh, since drag-n-drop- principle is mixed with the time-management element.

This means, not only should you match the scoops, but also prepare an ice-cream in a limited time before your customers get furious and leave without getting what they want.

So, your customer’s patience is displayed on the screen to the right from the main gamefield. Be sure to gaze at it from time not to let any customer go without an ice-cream. Just like in other time-management games, after you serve your customers, they’ll pay you. So, on each level you are to make the required sum of money or beat the expert score.

For the tokens earned on a level you will be offered to get new items to upgrade your business. Such as new sundae recipes, special toppings(syrup, sprinkles), chocolate sticks, wafers, and any possible decorations you can think of.

After you successfully complete a level, you’ll be asked to prepare your own ice-cream that will be a pick of the day (this is my favorite part). It’ll be nice to see lots of customers coming and asking for your creation in further levels. More than that, you’ll be able to boast it in your e-mail to your friends and relatives.

The game has a number of features. Each new feature is introduced to you once you begin a new level. So, here are the tips to help you master the game:

1. Be sure to get yourself new upgrades for your sundaes after each level.

2. Match three cherries – and you’ll be rewarded with a cherry token.

3. Match 4 items to get a scoop bomb, 5 items to get a super scoop bomb.

4. Be sure to match a scoop that contains a customer treat inside. All the customer treats you’ve earned are displayed at the bottom of your playing field. Once customer patience meter goes down, click on the treat symbol, and the meter will go back to the initial position. Thus, you can extend time in case you’re stuck.

5. Some of the scoops are frozen, so they block the row they’re in from moving. Be sure to perform a match with them to get rid of them.

6. Ice balls – another items that block your scoops. Trigger a bomb near them to destroy them.

Certainly, this is not all. Just keep your eye on your customer and follow the tips in the beginning of each level.

In my opinion, Cindy’s Sundaes is a perfect proof that creating a good game does not require thousand dollars. This features simple graphics and relatively simple gameplay.
