DQ Tycoon - Your Cool Career!
While winter is in full swing with its cold and snow and all the stuff, the Universe of DQ Tycoon suffers from extreme heat, and only a helping of some cool treat will save the situation. The game offers the traditional time-management fun with a couple of new twists, that can be facilitating or annoying depending on how you use them.
Love to spend your time at Dairy Queen? Why not work there?
That\'s how Emily thought when she decided to start her career as a DQ store manager. The
game features not much of a story, and it\'s just a branded Dairy Queen game. Which does not
in any way diminish its production value, while the story still leaves much to be desired. At least I would prefer a bit more motivation for the heroine to work in DQ instead of just
being a happy customer. But, nevertheless, all the fun still stays with you.
As to the game play, basically it\'s the same as in all other time-managements.
You have two
counters where customers come for sweet treats, and thus you can serve only two customers at
a time, which is not really convenient, as you will lose lots of customers if you get stuck
with just one.
Tip: start making the next drinks or shakes right after you take the previous one to the
customer - this saves time!
During your first week you will work alone in one store, but if you manage to reach the
weekly profit quota, for the second stage you\'ll get another location and employees to help
you. For each day you can choose the store where you will work (watch the thermpmeter in
order to know which place is going to be the busiest) and hire employees. Though at first
you might think that the employees can be helpful, it\'s not really so, as they are very slow
and inefficient and don\'t let you choose what they should do. Moreover, you need to pay to
them. So at some points the best decision is to refuse their help and work alone.
One of the great features is Brain Freeze, when one of your customers eats his ice-cream too
fast thus cooling himself too much. In this case you need to serve him a hot Flamethrower
Burger in orer to restore his thermal balance.
As in any other dash game, in DQ Tycoon you have an opportunity to upgrade your stores using
the tokens you earn for achieving regular and Expert day goals.
On the whole the game is quite pleasant, though it might use some improvement. But in order
to make your opinion you have to try it first!
