Golden Trails: The New Western Rush
Awem Studio has done a lot of work to wrap hidden object mechanism into a nice wild west story and eventually present us something as interesting as Golden Trails: The New Western Rush.
If you think that life is crazy now in our world, don't hurry to come to this conclusion. Life back then in wild west era was pretty busy, especially if you are a sheriff.
The biggest problem for you here will be finding the bank robbers, but that's definitely not all there is...
One of the biggest events the game story revolves around is the bank robbery. Since you are the sheriff of the Somerville, it is your responsibility to find those who did that.
Doing your investigation you will come across many people and will go to different locations. Other events involved are the following. Cowboy Joe's been cheated out of his ranch, a gunrunner's selling arms to the local tribes, and a young girl's being strongarmed into a marriage she doesn't want.
The dialogs with the witnesses and other characters are not that long, but if you can skip them all together. The graphics and voice-over is totally enjoyable and create a great wild west atmosphere. Most of the gaming time will be spent in the hidden object levels.
The scenes are beautifully drawn and very relevant to the time you are in. You will have to search for the items given to you in the form of small images at the bottom.
Once one of those is found it is replaced with another one. Some of those items are inventory ones. They are very useful in the game. Sometimes you won't be able to leave the location without finding certain inventory.
The hidden object levels are divided by shooting mini-games. You are to shoot bandits in those to get more points. Points are good for the trophies in the game. Plus you can also search for 150 sheriff badges all over the game. That unlocks the game's Unlimited Play mode.
Golden Trails: The New Western Rush is definitely a great game with high production values.
