Haunted Hotel: The X Collector's Edition
Haunted Hotel: The X Collector's Edition is a fresh new sequel to the hidden object puzzle adventure Haunted Hotel series. The game's developer, Elephant Games, is known for some of the most impressive games of this genre. Don't hesitate to check out the previous releases of the series if you are new to the title.
The game's graphics and audio are just wonderful and perfectly fitting the story making it more alive and involving.

This one is just as good as you would expect from this developer. The story takes you on a quest to rescue your sister who'd been investigating an old murder in a now haunted house.
When she disappears, you come to the place to learn that she's been kidnapped by one of the spirits. The spirit is seriously angry and dangerous not only for her life but your own as well. You are now guided by a little girl spirit (how typical) on your search for the truth of what happened many years ago with the owner of Lexington Hotel.

The game's graphics and audio are just wonderful and perfectly fitting the story making it more alive and involving. The animated parts are absolutely great!
Hidden object scenes are quite rare here compared to the number of puzzles. They vary in their search method. Some are silhouettes and others take several steps to complete, for example. There are also short versions of you usual HOS.
The game's puzzles are not very challenging, so you might want to set the highest difficulty mode for them. You get to choose out of four modes with a customizable one.

There are a lot of things to collect, like petals and pictures of orphans (creepy). Morphing objects are scattered across the scenes too.
Strategy guide and map are available for you as you play. The media extras, music, wallpaper, concept art, are downloadable after the game. The puzzles and HOS are replaybale. The Secret room challenges you to get the highest score possible.
Once you solve this case, you can go back to the hotel to solve another crime in the bonus chapter.
This game is a wonderful horror story HOPA game for those who don't mind some chills down their spine.
