Pet Shop Hop - Love pets? What about selling them?

Playfirst continues to please its customers with the games everyone expects from them - time-managements. This time they released Pet Shop Hop, a title which is sure to gain popularity as it combines the extremely demanded time-management game play with pet theme, which also enjoys great request nowadays.

So, meet Cassie - an aspiring vet student, who once came to see her parents and discovered Minerva Mink there. What? You don't know Minerva? Everybody knows her in the city!

She is the owner of MegaPet - a very large and very agressive corporation uniting a chain of successful pet stores. This time they intend to buy the little family shop of Cassie's parents and turn it into one more MegaPet store. Surely, Cassie is not going to let them do this. But for this she will have to work really hard to prove her shop is worth existing. Here you come in and start playing.

As you could guess, you will have to run a pet shop. That is sell various pets, take care of them, upgrade your shop and try to please all the customers that come to you.

You start with selling fish. The large aquarium is the only thing in your shop in the first week, but it still needs cleaning from time to time, and the fish need feeding. When a customer comes give him or her a fish of the colour they want. Sometimes they won't know what exactly they want. In this case you may offer the customer any fish. And some of them can't even decide which animal they need, let alone the colour - it's up to you to choose what to give them. This feature can be really useful to create combos - for you get bonuses each time you sell several pet of the same type in a row.

Tip: Try to make combos as often as possible, for they add significantly to your points.

After each level you will have an opportunity to upgrade your shop and buy new pets. Yes, you control which pets and how many of them you will stock, and you decide how much money to spend on that. You will need a bit of strategic thinking here, for the more pets you have at your store, the more you have to clean and the more food they will require. But if you do not stock enough, you may run out of goods before the week passes and will not be able to meet the goal.

On later levels you will have much more types of pets, a vet station to have them examined and certified, a number of bowls and cages to put them in, and lots of other accessories to increase your earnings.

The game features 52 levels (each meaning a week, that is you have a year to make your shop thrive) and two modes - Story and Challenge - for you to enjoy.

The graphics is not the best it could be, but the game play is quite balanced and soon you stop noticing the characters are not really well drawn.

I would say Pet Shop Hop is quite a nice choice for everyone addicted to arcades. One of the best features here is your freedom to choose the strategy of development. Are you ready to defend your business?
