Year 2009 has come, and all of us have come back to our normal lives after all the holidays (at least I hope you have), so it's high time to review the best games of the year that has passed and retrieve in our memory all the best moments of our gaming life in 2008. In order to do this we have been running a survey at GameMile asking you what you consider the best titles released last year. Today I would like to analyze the results and remind you the best of the best.
So, the choice we offered was quite wide, but your have chosen an uncontested leader. Guess what title has been awarded the name of the greatest game of year 2008 by GameMile visitors? I'm absolutely sure you won't make a mistake, especially if you are among the 31% of HOG lovers who voted for Mystery Case Files: Return to Ravenhearst - the latest installment of the famous series from Big Fish Games.
The second and third places have been shared, as two games, though of the same genre, have gathered 16% each. Welcome Sally's Spa , the sequel to the great time-management game Sally's Salon , and Cooking Dash, one of the popular Playfirst dashes, featuring Flo, her Grandma and the cooking fun! These titles definitely deserve the votes!
Surely, the runner-ups also have their fans and are worthy our attention, like Mortimer Beckett and the Time Paradox , a challenging and fun quest of all times, or Build-a-lot 3: Passport To Europe , the real estate strategy game of amazing production values, which received respectively 10% and 7% of your votes.
I wonder what games were thought of by the 6% of players who voted for "Other". Maybe, you will tell me in your comments?
