Mystic Diary: Lost Brother - Finding Gustav
Mystic Diary: Lost Brother is one of the latest releases in the hidden object genre developed and published by Sun Ray Games.
In this game you are to help a magician find his brother, Gustav. The
game features both hidden object levels and all kinds of puzzles for
you to solve.
Finding yourself in the victorian era you desparately search for the clues to take you to your brother.
Starting
from the search of his brother's house he ends up in an unknown place.
And what's more he gets there on a baloon. The journey helps him to
reveal not only the details regarding his missing brother, but also
soemthing about himself. All of which can be found then in his journal.
Most of the times you will play hidden object levels. The items to find are given either on the list or in the form of images.
One item goes to your inventory for later use in every scene. You look
for the items according to the theme like gold that spreads over
several scenes.
There
are also find-the difference levels which offer quite a unique twist on
the game. Instead of showing two scenes, it shows one with some sort of
gadget that sees items disappearing or appearing. The goal is to find
the differences between the picture and what the gadget sees or doesn't
see.
The hints are unlimited for you but not for the puzzles and you will have ot wait for the meter to refill.
The audio appears in the puzzles and in between the levels only. The
visual part is done quite well. The graphics does give a sence of the
victorian times. With 12 rounds of the game and at least two hidden
object scenes in each, the game has around 30 scenes of finding objects
plus the occasional puzzle.
The game is good for the genre. It's not
like you will be smashed by the new twists or something like that but
it does offer some neat features.
