Virtual Villagers -Adventures of the Lost Tribe
After volcanic eruption a little tribe was washed up on the exotic island of Isola.
Not to get lost on this godforsaken piece of land, they have to learn the basics of survival.
So the point of the game is to grow a small village into prosperous settlement teaching its inhabitants to manage a day-to-day routine.
A bunch of new Isola inhabitants feel helpless on an unknown island. The need to be trained to satisfy their primary needs: to find food, overcome diseases, to build houses and to expand population.
Training involves drag-and-drop strategy - here are some tips and tricks for you.
- to get food, drag a villager to the berry bush. Sometimes people learn this trick only after a couple of tries;
- to heal the sick villager, drag another villager on top of the sick one;
-to build a hut, drag a builder to the pile of bricks and plankings.

Mind that Virtual Villagers is a real time game.
It means that when your pc is off, little tribe members still live their lives and practice what you've taught them.
So, every time you switch on your computer, many changes may come as a surprise to you!
Once the primary needs are satisfied, villagers get interested in technologies and researching scientific advancements.
Apart from teaching farming, building houses, you'll also guide them as they start exploring and restoring the island. To unlock first puzzles and milestones, drag-and-drop strategy can still be used: to create a school drag and drop a Master Scientist over the large hut. Get doctors and scientists to study the awkward looking plants.
You'll see that with time the tribe members get curious about the secrets of mysterious island - help them to solve all 16 puzzles prepared by Isola.
Often the villagers' curiosity is a clue to puzzles. For example, exploring Isola Island, they inevitably come across the well that needs cleaning (you'll be told about it with a flashing message). Once the well is cleaned, the first puzzle is solved!
You may also drag one of adult villagers around the island after every tech purchase and look for new things that they can work on.
Gaining research points, villagers can spend them to improve the life on the island (don't forget that little people is striving for their island prosperity!). Mind that it takes some time for your villagers to obtain the necessary skills and technology to find puzzles and cope with them.

Virtual villagers playingfield includes Main screen where the action takes place, Map allowing you to ‘travel' to different island spots, screen containing info on the island's inhabitants (their names, age, likes and dislikes).
There is also Technologies screen reflecting villagers' research points and a special screen that shows which of 16 puzzles and milestones are already completed.
Great variety of sim games available these days may kill interest to them. Still, Virtual Villagers game features a number of tricky characteristics: game animation is above all praise - each island inhabitant is charming and unique, colors are tropically wild and glaring. But what really grasps you is a fact that the game runs in a real-time: you'll be itching to see what happened to your pets while your machine was off.
