Dream Chronicles: The Book of AirDream Chronicles: The Book of Air - New Beginning

Dream Chronicles: The Book of Air is the fourth game in the Dream Chronicles series and the first one in a new trilogy of games from PlayFirst.

It is time for the new generation to take up their place in the story.

Talking about the new generation I mean Lyra, Faye's half-fairy daughter.

Dream Chronicles: The Book of AirLyra is 18 year old now, and she got into trouble. The game starts with her disappearing and reappearing in anther place, a town of Wish to be specific.

Her grandfather is the only one who is able to help her sending some notes. But it seams to her that the only way for her to escape that other dimension and get  back is to find someone known as Clockmaster.

The game is not different from all of the other of the series. It offers a mixture of point-and-click with seek-and-find levels. Lyra is also able to use certain spells helpful to the game, that are represented by different jewels scattered around. Those include  translating the fairy language, illuminating dark areas, and even calling down thunder and rain from the sky.

Dream Chronicles: The Book of Air

You are to travel to several different location  that can be traveled to by airship once you discover the correct coordinates for a location and find colored stones to use as fuel.

The hint system in this game is what makes it different from its predecessors. You'll no longer find yourself stuck trying to find items thanks to a recharging magnifying glass that can be used to reveal an object's location. You can even use it to find dream jewels.

There are also two modes: Casual and Challenge. In casual mode, the mini-game puzzles are slightly less challenging, and you can skip them after a certain amount of time has passed.

The graphics remain as perfect as it is always with the series games.

I personally hate books where the chcaarter suddenly meets someone and (though they have been proclaimed cold, calculating, and emotionless) suddenly they are that persons crusader, their proverbial knight or knightess..?.. In shining armor:) I also loved the His Dark Materials trilogy and despised Lyra for her attitude, but loved her for her complexity. I saw something human in her chcaarter, something real. Some people read books and watch movies to give themselves something to aim for, some beautiful castle in the sky to reach one day . Others, like myself, enjoy a tale that is real and not glossed over by a kinder version of what we wish our world were like. SO after that severe digression, my comment is one of encouragement. There ARE people out here who look forward to a complex heroine, I personally look forward to meeting her.
