Escape the Lost Kingdom - Going 3-D
Well, well, well...hidden-object genre
fans are the first among casual games users to get a game with 3-D parts
and animation.
This new game from Gogii games is a very
good product even without the extra dimension mixing the the hidden
object levels and the mini-games into an entertaining adventure.
You are to follow the adventure of a
family that stumbles upon a tomb of a forgotten, cursed pharaoh while
being in a museum in Egypt.
It is because of the
antics of a stowaway house cat, they
find themselves trapped within its halls, then separated and forced to
solve ancient riddles and puzzles in order to reunite and find their
way out of the place.
The game reminds a good Disney movie where
the whole family is involved into an adventure with the kids being just
as or even more important then adults. Here the kids are the main
characters of the game.
They have magic
items which give them the power to see into
the past and detect the secrets of the ancient Pharaohs. As to the
parents they don't do as much work and they only are useful every once
in a while. The father carries three tools
which allows him to break
things in three different ways. And the mother holds the occasionally useful game journal.
Nevertheless you do get an opportunity to
see some events from different perspectives.
You can't say that the game is purely a
hidden object one. It's rather an adventure game where hidden-object
levels and other puzzles are mixed all together into one thing.
Moreover, the
nature of the game means it's not necessary,
and in some cases not even possible, to complete all the puzzles in a
particular area before moving on, so asome amount of backtracking is
inevitable.
The hidden object levels are quite classic
with a hint button for your service and also help button in every
level. The mom's journal can also be a good help. But if things are
really bad, you can always skip the puzzles.
The 3-D portions appear every once in a
while throughout the game. They are quite good and maybe better than you
would expect. These all little things make up a good hidden object game
for the genre fans.
