Haunted Manor: Lord of Mirrors - Bets Have Their Price
I wonder if anyone ever made a research on the bets people took and what it resulted in. The story behind the game would make the list then if it were a real one. Haunted Manor: Lord of Mirrors from Top Evidence Studio tell you a story of a young man who took a bet and got a whole adventure to go through.
It is hard to resist the temptation of going into an abandoned house, when you have one right on the edge of town.
Stan Riddle is your character who is to get into this manor to hang around and see what's in there. And the game is not about getting into the house, but rather, getting out of it. As Stan explores the rooms of the abandoned house, he comes across a nondescript mirror.
The next second he notices that it's not actually him who is looking back at him, and the next second he finds himself locked into another realm. His soul is locked now and the task for him is to find the way out. He is not the only one in there, as he finds out soon. The characters that you are going to meet, some good and some bad, will help him, but for a price, of course.
Most of the levels are a mixture of hidden object parts and adventure tasks involving finding some inventory and using it to get further into the game. There are time-based hints, but you most probably won't need them.
Each room in the mansion has one specific location
for hidden objects - a fishing tackle box, for instance, or a pantry
shelf - as well as a smaller number of "inventory items" scattered
throughout that need to be found in order to complete an objective.
The game also offers you some mini-games to play in between the levels. Those are nothing unique and shockingly new. But everyone will be happy. If you don't like them you can easily skip them, but if you don't mind to play them it's no problem too.
The graphics of the game is gorgeous. All the details are drawn very accurately and nice. The music and sounds are not a let down either. All of it serves to create a perfect dreadful atmosphere to match the story.
Haunted Manor: Lord of Mirrors is a good hidden object game that definitely is worth the time.
