Party Down - Let's Get the Party Started!
Welcome to the elite of Hollywood where you'll have a perfect chance to mingle with the most famous stars and make a stunning career where your work is a sheer party! Party down, the new fascinating 3D time-management game, offers you a very addictive game play with some new fresh twists that make it even more engaging.
What trace in people's memory will you leave? Will you be remembered as the girl from clothing commercials?
If you do wish to become famous, then Hollywood is the right place for you! And there is no better way to get to the world of the stars then to work for them. So you select your character (Shannon or Dave) and follow him/her in the quest of serving the best parties in Hollywood and gaining popularity essential for your future career. The story is based on the Party Down TV Show where the characters treat their waiting job as a place-holder until they make their great breakthrough.
As you understood, you are going to serve star parties and watch for all the guests to be happy. This is also a great chance to earn yourself some valuable acquaintances. Each stage is a single party, like Angelina's Birthday Party, for example, and each level represents just an hour of fun for your guests and work for your character. When a guest comes you see a bubble over his/her head showing what he wishes and the level of happiness. You have either to take them to a couch of their choice or bring some food or drinks, arrange a conversation or just put them to the dance floor. For each action performed you get tips, the amount depending on the guest's happiness. And, surely, you need to reach at least the bronze goal out of the three possible in order to proceed.
A couple of levels from the beginning of the game you'll be presented another interesting option, which actually constitutes one of the level goals. It is connected with building up your useful acquaintances and gaining popularity. As I already said, some stars wish to talk with someone. They might talk to each other, but what's the point when your staff, including the cook, waiter and bar-tender, are also willing to have a chance and chat with a really famous person? So for each level you'll get a minimum number of star conversations to complete before the time is out. Both stars and your employees have popularity levels, and those are interrelated, so that a star with high level won't talk to your unknown employee, but the more they talk, the more popular your workers become, and thus they can talk to more people. once one of your employees gets a popularity star, you can upgrade his/her skills, making him/her work or chat faster, so star conversations are also ways to earn upgrades for your staff.
As you proceed the services you can will be more numerous, and you'll also encounter some crisises, like employees falling asleep, etc. And after you serve the whole frantic party, you'll also have to clean up the mess the guests have left - which is done through hidden object mini-games at the end of each stage. All this adds fun and diversity to the game play.
I should also dwell a bit on the game visuals. Made in 3D format, the characters are individual and cute, especially when you watch them dance, as everyone moves differently and funny. Just don't forget to click as you watch the dance floor.
So, are you ready for your first Hollywood party?
