Riddles of Fate: Memento Mori
Riddles of Fate: Memento Mori Collector's Edition is a good Adventure, Hidden Object, Match 3, Time Management, Puzzle game for the lover of spooky European games. The setting is truly dark. The scenes are really spooky; it seems that most scenes have just a few light sources that emit an eerie yellow/orangeish glow with the rest of the scene in a blue shadow.
Even the title of the game is disturbing. “Memento mori,” or also “memento mortis,” is Latin for “remember death.”
Whenever Roman rulers would parade around town, they would have servants whispering this in their ears to remind them of the vanity of earthly life and the transient nature of all earthly goods and pursuits.
Your job is to help death! Apparently, some evil souls have managed to cheat him and he wants you to go finish them off. If they don’t die, then new people can’t be born. The theology in this game is terrible, but it is a cute premise. So, first you go to Paris where you will find who needs to die and why. The folks with red eyes need to be offed, but first you’ve got to be able to prove it.
There are lots of twisted little minigames and hidden object puzzles along the way that are certain to provide some quality entertainment.
The collector’s edition stands out from others. Of course, this Collector’s Edition includes the standard strategy guide and media downloads that all collector’s edition, but this particular one has really interesting collectibles, morphing objects, and a secret room and a cool feature that allows you to go back in time and find out how the eternal struggle began!
Once again, you’ll have to check your theology at the door and remember that this is a whole lot of make-believe. Great fun! Download now!
