Season Match: Curse of the Witch Crow - Make The New Year Happen
If you are familiar with the situation in The Chronicals of Narnia when Narnia stuck in the never-ending winter, you get the idea of what's going on in this new match-three game. Season Match: Curse of the Witch Crow needs you to break the spell of a witch by making tons of matches and also doing some searches.
You can for sure expect a lot of matching with a few other puzzles in between.
From the very start you are told what's going on in this game. It is time for the annual gethering of the twelve months on the eve of the new year. Only two of them came to find out that the rest of them are bewitched by the Crow witch.
It is crucial right now to do everything it takes to set them free. Otherwise the new year may not begin. You play as you, I guess, in this game. You can for sure expect a lot of matching with a few other puzzles in between.
The matching levels are very typical in that they get you to click on the groups of three or more identical items to make them disappear. Every match-three level is targeted at getting some item needed at a certain point of the story.
That item is always covered with ice, that starts getting broken when you dealt with most of the blocks on the board or collected the required number of some items on the board. The goals are shown to you at the bottom of the screen.
One of the things that I really enjoyed is that you just click on the groups of three or more tiles without draging or switching them. It makes it easier and faster especially if you use the touchpad, not the mouse.
The matching is getting more and more challenging, but as usuall you also get more and more power-ups to help you out, like a lightning that destroys all of the tiles vertically above or underneath it. There are also different rechargable powers that you can use once they are recharged to destry some of the board parts much faster.
The tiles on the board are partially blocked. Some of them look like stomes, for example, or they can be frozen. You destroy them by clicking on the groups of identical tiles all around them. Some of them get destroyed with one burst, the other ones need more bursts.
So the matching fans can be sure to get lots of that here. In between the matching levels you usually get to find a certain number of items of the same kind. You also get to solve other small puzzles, like those where you are to spot the differences. In this way you unlock one month after another. The sounds and graphics are ok for a match-three game, nothing peculiar really.
This is Season Match: Curse of the Witch Crow in a nutshel for those interested in some matching for a few hours.
