The Great Tree - Beautifully Challenging Action Game
The Great Tree is a game that is
absolutely worth of any gamer's attention. Being developed and published by Reflexive Entertainment, the game
delivers you into the mysterious forest world full of all kinds of
creatures.
One of the greatest things about the game is its graphics. The
audiovisuals are done so very well that it seems that it's more than enough.
But there's still more to the game than superb graphics.
I'm sure you have already had
it in your thoughts but I'm still going to say this - The Great Tree is catching with its graphics. And you can tell this
by the very first look. The game looks really like one of a kind and it really
is. Being surrounded by all this beauty plus the magic story of fairy tale
creatures is what makes you want to stay playing the game. The picture is
mostly performed in a watercolour style with some neon glow and modeled
realism. All this together with the sounds and music create a really amazing atmosphere.
What adds to the general atmosphere is the way the characters move on the
screen. You get a very weird feeling when you see how gently your fairy flies
as you slightly touch the mouse.
Your task in the game is to
save the life-giving tree and the forest dwellers. The game is full of enemies,
power-ups and surprises.
According to the story behind
you are to save the forest dwellers and the live-giving tree from their
enemies, some other forest creatures like mutant insects. You accomplish your
task by collecting the pollen represented by neon glow. When the enemies appear
on the screen, they do their best to decrease your health level and make you
lose all the pollen you are carrying. There are four categories that
characterize your performance and that can be boosted if you want. They are: Agility,
Health, Strength and Magic. You can get higher levels in these categories when
you free imprisoned critters aka Swee. Doing so you get special weapons and
quite soon you'll be able to give the star points you get for that to boost one
of the categories.
The game is really worth to be at least tried with
all these beautiful 100 levels of challenging tasks.
