The Serpent of Isis - Detective and History Come Along!
Developed by Gamgo Games and published by Big Fish Games, The Serpent of Isis represents a
very decent sample of a hidden object and puzzle game wrapped in the eternal theme of
Egyptian mystery and the eternal form of whodunit and chase.
Retrieve a legendary chest stolen a century ago? Why not?
If your grandfather was a famous Egypt explorer and found the world-famous Serpent of Isis
Chest back in 1896, when the expedition implied all the possible dangers, and if the chest
was stolen just in a couple of years, when the Egyptian Museum in Cairo was reopened, and if
you get an anonymous letter saying there are five people on the Mont Palu Express suspected
of trying to smuggle the lost Serpent to London from Venice, and if a ticket for the Express
has been already booked in your name, then, I guess, you have no choice but agree to your
fate and come on board of the train and investigate all the clues and find out who the
plotter is, and, of course, try to stop him and return the artifact to where it should be. And
there your adventures start...
The game play offers you one of the most addictive variants of hidden object and puzzle
blend. In each chapter you\'ll visit several scenes with a number of hidden items to find.
Some items are rather easy to find, and some will require significant attention (or
luck...). Others will need you to use some items from your inventory, i.e. keys to open
cabinets, codes for safes, etc. Rather often you\'ll have to switch among the scenes in order
to find some objects necessary to complete the tasks and uncover everything. Now and then
there are some mini-puzzles than make a nice change from general hidden object game play.
As I already mentioned, you have five suspects. For each of them you are given a suspect
card and and a number of Special Items to find. For finding each of those you\'ll get extra
hints or time bonuses, which is very useful as the time limit for completing each chapter is
rather tight and the hints are scarce, so try to use every chance and find all you can.
Actually, you can choose either Timed or Untimed Mode and play the game at your pace and not
be worried about time challenge, if you don\'t want to.
The fascinating visuals and truly addictive game and unlinear game play make this game a
perfect choice if you are looking for a high quality HOG.
