Tikibar - Nothing is Better Than a Cocktail On a Hot Summer Day!
Today we would like to present a game that offers nothing special in terms of game play,
graphics or any other features, but creates a good overall impression and makes a nice
choice if you want something easy yet challenging in the time-management genre.
Nuclear plants on Tiki island? Never!
Tara is an office clerk who is tired of here paperwork and needs some relaxation. Of course,
she goes to Tiki island, where she used to spend all her summers with her grandparents. But
as she comes she encounters a protest meeting and learns that a millionaire and owner of a
large corporation wishing to build a nuclear plant on the paradise island is coming on this
very day, and the people are protecting their nature. Her grandparents are also among the
protesters, and their bar needs attention, as they need someone to take care of it. Who if
not Tara? She decides it's a nice change from her boring work and is glad to start
immediately, of course!
The game play is the most traditional you could expect from a time-management game. You have
customers coming to your place for some food and beverages. At the beginning all you can
serve is red ice-cream and yellow soda, but as you earn money you have a possibility to
purchase upgrades, like French fries, burgers, cocktails or additional soda and ice-cream flavors. The pricing is set so that you can afford an upgrade every couple of
levels, which is a fairly good pace.
To fulfill an order you have to click on the corresponding machines, wait while the food is
ready, take it and bring it to the customer. No additional moves needed in the first stages.
Later on more complicated tasks will be added, like making sandwiches, for example. Those
will need ome more actions.
There is one little twist - you can't see what Tara is carrying in her tray, it's wrapped.
So if you don't remember, you need to look to the right bottom corner of the screen for
reference, which takes some time and makes it all a bit too challenging.
The non-inventive but still engaging game play together with the merry sounds and funny
customer comments and nice colorful graphics make Tikibar a reasonably good game if you are
a fan of the genre. So, why not try it to see whether you'll like it?

I see. I hope you let us know what you've discovered, uasebce I'm finding your attempt fascinating. I'd like to see if it evolves into a rock band , or a cooperative, or maybe something new and different.I think one of interesting aspects of this experiment is how you're not explicitly putting everyone in the same company, but you're still going to create teams. In my experience, company cultures have always been less about employer-employee relations, and more about how peers treated each other. In your case, you're not going to have a shared employer, but you are still going to have peers, and you're going to need to negotiate all the usual stuff with them, such as the way you share resources, responsibilities, and benefits. Now, I'm not saying all this so I can be a smartass. I hope you do well, but I have an even bigger hope that what you're doing can be replicated. :-) You can only replicate something if you know what makes it tick, hence the question. |
