Trial of the
Gods: Adriadne’s Journey - Rescuing The Beloved
Things
change sometimes. The traditional fairy-tales stories are based on a boy, or
rather a knight, saving a girl, a princess. But sometimes girls are to rescue boys.
This is the short version of the story behind Trial of the Gods: Adriadne’s
Journey. The game is a follow-up of a love story between Adriadne and Theseus.
The way to
the rescue of the beloved one can be long and challenging but it is definitely
worth it.
The game
looks all bright and cute depicting the beauty of people and gods of the Greek
myths. All of the gems on the boards are bright and shiny – exactly what it
should be like in a match-three game. A short story before the actual game
tells you that due to unfair battle Theseus is in danger now and Adriadne is
now to come and rescue him.
Adriadne is
no great warrior so she needs help. Who else can be if not Greek mythological
gods and goddesses? So some of them agree to help you but they want something
in return of course. For example, the first goddesses need Adriadne’s help in
rebuilding her temple.
The whole
idea sounds a bit ridiculous because if you are a goddess, shouldn’t you be all-powerful
and not need human’s help in such an easy thing as rebuilding the temple? Anyways,
that doesn’t change the game play which is quite great for a match-three game.
You will
play a great number of match-three levels. Each one of them will bring about
new features such as special gems or other items. Some of them will make your
life harder, while others are the power-ups for you. The game gives you a goal
for each level, such as to collect a required number of certain items on the
board.
Every few
match-three levels you will play a hidden-object level. The screens in those
levels don’t look even a bit like those of average hidden object games. The
screen is not clattered with stuff and the graphics are not that detailed. But
that doesn’t mean that it will be way too easy to find all of the items.
The game’s
two modes with a great number of features make Trial of the Gods: Adriadne’s
Journey a great match-three game.
