Youda Legend: The Curse of the Amsterdam Diamond - The Mystery Is Waiting For You!
Youda Games, after releasing a number of rather successful simulation games, decided to try
and create a hidden object title. I should say they have done very good job with this one -
and so I'm presenting Youda Legend to your attention.
What would you do if you found yourself in Amsterdam? Here is a plan!
You come to Amsterdam. Not knowing why and what for. Not knowing what you are going to do
there. But determined to find some adventures and solve a couple of mysteries. At the railway
station you find a hotel brochure and go there - why not? In your hotel room another surprise
is waiting for you - a note from a supposedly dead person leading you to another location in
the city. Then to another. And to another. Finally you find yourself in the whirl of a
mysterious investigation. A great plan, isn't it?
It's essentially all you get to know about the story. Of course, as you progress, you get to
know more and more, but not really much still. But I must say the game play compensates lack
of story fully.
Though being absolutely linear, it's still addictive and challenging. The hidden object scenes with traditional lists of items to find might seem rather dark, but they are very well
balanced so that you wouldn't be bored or helpless. Besides looking for listed items you also
need to find little diamonds scattered around the screen. They will help you replenish the
hint charge. But it can be charged without any help from you just as time passes, so even if
you can't find diamonds you'll still have a fair number of hints given that there is no time
limit.
In each scene there are regular items and inventory items that later on will be used in a
puzzle mini-game. The puzzles are not repeated, so you never know what you'll be doing next
time - arranging ropes in the correct positions, rotating keys to open a door or something
completely different. The puzzles are very inventive and exciting, and they add considerable
diversity to your game experience.
So, if you are looking for a well-balanced, nice drawn and diverse hidden object game, Youda
Legend: The Curse of the Amsterdam Diamond is a good choice.
