Have you ever heard an English Christmas carol that enumerates a series of increasingly grand gifts given on each of the twelve days of Christmas called "The Twelve Days of Christmas"? First published in England in 1780, it is still widely popular. For example, last year the iPhone 3G sang the song with modified lyrics in the TV commercials and this year in The Simpsons episode "The Fight Before Christmas", where a "Muppet"-like Simpson family with Katy Perry sang their version of the song, "39 days of Christmas Days". Actually Christmas Wonderland is based on the lyrics of the carol. Playing the game you'll have to collect all the presents given by the true love during all the days of Christmas. And if you don't remember the list, don't be sad — the game starts with this wonderful song.

So there is the first game, and if you played it, you will notice a lot of similar things between the two. You start off by choosing a female and male character for the game. Then you get a short dialogue between the two which you had chosen. And from that dialogue you get that they are on their way to her dad, who might be in trouble now because of the snow storm. The dialogue stops as they fall from the bridge. There they can reach different buildings and items. There is a dog that joins them and is willing to help along the way. From that moment on you are going to accomplish different tasks given to you and play a few mini-games in between the major levels.

The game is really good, but there are many similarities with the first one. If you really liked the first release, it is a pro. If you are expecting for something totally new, it might be a con. With that being said, the game just as addictive even for those who've gone through the first one. So here are the things that are going to be the same. You are going to do the same things - build buildings in Rome. You are going to do that with the materials that you collect through clearing the match-three boards. Those familiar with the first game will find that even some of the graphics as icons, for example, are the same. But do not assume that all of the game is the same. No, there are two new modes added to the game. They are locked at the very befinning, but afer you reach them, you get to play a few other puzzles in the game. They are called Tourney and Blitz.

Having all of the ingredients is not enough to get a great game. It is pretty important how you mix all of that together. And Mystery of Mortlake Mansion does it in a very awesome way. The story allows you to choose if you want to be a male or female character. Then you learn that you are invited by R to a mansion. You don't know too much neither about the mansion nor who this R is at first. But then the story unfolds and you find out all of the details and what is going on. This R turned out to be a real fan of magic, and all of his life was spent on trying to find out as much as possible about his favorite magician. After all he got trapped into the Mortlake mansion and needs your help now.
