These village simulation series created by Last Day of Work have become so popular that now we meet the fifth sequel - Virtual Villagers 5: New Believers. Once again we are on the mysterious island called Isola. The story starts when a child discovers a lost mask on a forbidden path at the edge of the village. The elders gather to examine never seen mask and appoint a small group of villagers to search that path, which take them into the darkest part of the jungle. Unfortunately, they are captured and taken prisoners by faceless, non-believing natives. You play as a god trying to protect your little band on this beautiful island, to help them survive and develop, and to convert some of these heathens to your side in order to enlarge your tiny tribe.
The name of the newly released game by Codeminion might scare away the players who are already sick and tired of the cursed houses and dilapidated buildings. Phantasmat starts with a car crash and as soon as you get to know that your heroine has stayed alive, you're advised to look for the help in an old hotel but under no circumstances stay there. By the way hardly anyone would stay in the the hotel called "Drowned Dead Hotel" in a real life. But has anyone ever followed such advices while playing? I bet that only those of you did so, who shut down the casual games after having played them for several minutes.
The story of the game and just the general idea amused me from the very beginning. You find yourself somewhere in the nothingness (what a great term!) trying to help different artists find their way to creating something stunning. But their minds are blank or cluttered with all kindss of stuff that prevents them from doing that. Step by step you get into their minds and clear them from the things that shouldn't be there. Every artist is a different character. And the places you are going to visit, which are their minds, do reflect on the mood and character of an artists.
The story starts with a girl finding a book that turned out to be a portal to another world. Usually building simulations use a more realistic scenario, while the hidden object genre prefers all kinds of mysteries and other worlds. But that is not a problem, but rather a fresh feature. So the ultimate goal of your character is to make her way back home. She is also now responsible for saving the Kindom by building lots of new buildings and upgrading them and protecting them. In other words you are going to play another building sim following the familiar path. The items used in that world will make it taste a bit different though.
We all love weddings. Everyone in their own unique way, but those who were involved into the preparation of the event know that it just might be better when your only task is to show up, rather than to be responsible for too many things that go wrong sooner or later anyway. Well, in Wedding Salon, you get a lot of the busy scenatio. But it will be a different kind of busy, not like when you play with Flo and Quinn. This time your main character is rather attached to the wedding salons, than to the weddings from start to end. But you realize that it doesn't mean that it is going to be less crazy, don't you?
